In November 2000, Friends of Africa in conjunction with Rainbow Project International (www.rainbowprojectinternational.org); established an outreach programme to the street children in Ndola, Zambia, drawing on the support and assistance of the Zambian Social Welfare Service and the Zambian Police Service. The programme was initiated to carry out a preliminary assessment of the problems and needs of the street children in the city centre.
